Australia's crushing defeat came against India in Perth by a huge margin of 295 runs which was historic. However, this loss didn't bother their red-ball captain Pat Cummins who gave a blunt statement at the post-match presser. This statement shows sheer arrogance from the Australian captain whose team didn't perform well in the first Test match. In fact, their winning streak broke in Perth after losing the game.

"We're still the No.1 ranked side in the world, this particular week doesn't change that," said Pat Cummins.

India's batting was sloppy at the start but after the bowlers stunned the Aussies in the first innings, the batters caught a rhythm and played accordingly. Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal's centuries were the talk of the match. However, the standout performance was of captain Jasprit Bumrah who claimed five wickets in the first innings and three wickets in the second.

He dismissed the dangerous batter Travis Head in the second innings who was batting on 89 runs. This Test match should have been an eye-opener for Australia that even though they are the top team, they were beaten in their own backyard.

But we'll take a couple of days rest and get into Adelaide: Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins was quite disappointed with the team's performance and felt that they didn't get many things right. The amends could have been done after the first innings but their preparations didn't work out as expected. Cummins revealed that they plan to take a couple of days off and then fly back to Adelaide to play a good game.

"Fairly disappointing. We thought our prep leading into it was good. Everyone was firing. It's just one of those games.. not much went right. It is what it is. After a loss, you want to get back on the horse pretty quickly. But we'll take a couple of days rest and get into Adelaide," said Cummins in the post-match presentation.
