Pakistan announced their Test squad, which came as a shock for the fans as the selectors dropped Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Sarfaraz Ahmed from the squad for the upcoming Test matches against England. There were no explanations given by the Board regarding this decision, but it's obvious that due to their current form and lack of performance, the harsh decision was taken.

After the squad was announced, Shaheen took to Twitter a day later to wish Pakistan for the 2nd Test match, which will start on October 15. He tweeted, "Wishing Team Pakistan the best of luck! Rooting for a strong comeback. We're all cheering for you."

This was a heartfelt post from the player after getting dropped from the team. He was also dropped from the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh but made a comeback against England. However, he is dropped from the team again. It's high time senior players took up the responsibility and performed well in crucial matches, or the young players deserve a chance to be on the team.

Pakistan's squad: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Haseebullah (wicket-keeper), Kamran Ghulam, Mehran Mumtaz, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha and Zahid Mehmood.

Ben Stokes returns to Test team against Pakistan

After Pakistan's squad announcement, England announced their playing XI, where captain Ben Stokes is returning for the 2nd Test match. He was recovering from an injury which he suffered during 'The Hundred' tournament. Now, he is fully fit and will be available for the game. He was in the squad for the previous game as well but didn't play the match.

England's playing XI: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Brydon Carse, Matt Potts, Jack Leach, Shoaib Bashir
