Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be happy with their ongoing mega auction buys as they picked medium-fast pacer bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar for INR 10.75 crores. While the price seems a bit high for the bowler since he hasn't played any international game for two years, he is a brilliant bowler in the powerplays and has given quick breakthroughs in the past.

Apart from him, RCB also brought in Josh Hazelwood, the Australian pacer for INR 12.50 crores. He is the highest-paid player for RCB in the auction. This time RCB is looking quite serious about making their bowling attack strong. They also have Suyash Sharma for INR 2.60 crores. If we look at the batting, they have Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, and Liam Livingstone as of now.

They still require some all-rounders and middle-order batters in the team who can finish the game. Depending on Kohli won't lead them towards the trophy. RCB have never been able to make a balanced team in any IPL season and they will make the same mistakes this time as well.

Will Virat Kohli captain RCB in IPL 2025?

Looking at the players taken until now, it seems like Kohli will return as RCB's captain after a gap of two years. Kohli left the captaincy after RCB's failed performances but now he will come back because the franchise didn't buy any player who is worth being a captain.

Moreover, RCB have retained Kohli for INR 21 crores which is huge. Hence, he will have the chance to become the captain again. This time, he has some supportive players in the team like Rajat Patidar, Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma who will give him company in the IPL 2025.
