"Virat Kohli's intensity and professionalism is top. For youngsters to witness that, it'll take their game to a different level. On Shubman Gill, he is improving on a day-by-day basis. We will take a call on the morning of the test. He played well in the match simulation in the build-up. So fingers crossed," said Morne Morkel during a presser.

If Gill misses out in the first game, Devdutt Padikkal will replace him, as he is practising around with the team in the nets. He played well in the practice matches against Australia A, scoring 124 runs in two innings. He has a pretty good chance of batting in the No. 3 position for India.

Australia won't bowl a lot of freebies: Morne Morkel

Australian bowlers are waiting to attack India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This series will be between the Australian bowlers and the Indian batters. Talking about the Australian bowlers, Morne Morkel spoke about the hosts and how the Indian players will handle the pressure. This time, India have quite a lot of youngsters in the team who have played well in the home conditions. While settling in Australia might be a bit difficult, they will get an opportunity to score well.

"Pressure is one thing but for a young squad, there are lot of unknowns. We need to break it down to sessions. Be brave and front up a quality bowling attack. Australia won't bowl a lot of freebies. The wicket is going to be fast and bouncy," said Morne Morkel.
