The drama continues in the last Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, where, after having a terrific bowling performance, runs have dried up for the Indian batters in the second innings. Australians made an astounding comeback in the game but claimed six wickets on day two. Speaking to the Australian head coach, Andrew McDonald, in the press conference, reporters asked him about Rishabh Pant's batting.
The question was, "Were you surprised to see Rishabh Pant come all guns blazing?" The head coach replied, saying, "We were a bit caught off guard in the first innings, but this isn’t a surprise. We had our plans, and it was an innings he would say was right for the time." Pant's batting was one of the reasons why India reached 145 runs quickly. The player scored 61 runs in 33 balls, including six boundaries and four sixes.
He played his natural game in the second innings. India will return on day three with just four wickets in hand. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar will have to play well and put up some high scores on the board to keep India's hopes alive.
Jasprit Bumrah has a back spasm: Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna's spells in the ongoing Test match was just brilliant. Replacing Akash Deep in the game, the bowler claimed three wickets, giving India major breakthroughs. He provided great support to Mohammed Siraj in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, who left the ground mid-game to visit the doctor. Krishna provided an update on the star bowler at the press conference after the match. Bumrah's fitness is of utmost importance for India as he is the main bowler of the team and a long 5-6 months of cricket is awaiting India.
"Jasprit Bumrah has a back spasm. Medical team is monitoring him so let's see. He had a scan. Medical team will update," said Prasidh Krishna.
