Team India's winning streak against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 has finally broken. In the recent series, India lost by 1-3. It was a humiliating series for the visitors as the batters failed tremendously, making it difficult for the bowlers as well.

When former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was asked, "Should India prepare better by playing matches before the tour?" he bashed the team. Before the start of the Bangladesh series, all the former players were suggesting the senior players go and play domestic cricket for a while to have the match practice. However, BCCI didn't allow this, saying seniors need rest ahead of the busy season. The result of this is known to everyone now.

While talking on Star Sports, an angry Gavaskar said, "Who are we? We don't know cricket. We just speak for the sake of TV and get money; don't listen to us; we're nothing. Listen from one ear, remove from another." After ten years, India lost the BGT series, which was well within their reach. However, due to some wrong decisions and zero contributions from the senior players, the trophy went back to Australia. Pat Cummins is commendable for his captaincy and has a solid record against India now. Next, they'll meet South Africa in the WTC 2025 finals.

We can be a little more sensible in that regard: Gautam Gambhir

India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, backed Rohit Sharma and lashed out at the media for writing reports against the captain. As per Gambhir, the reports were insensible, and the media should have respected Rohit as a captain and a leader.

"I would like to say that so many reports have been written and so many things have been said. At least we can be a little more sensible in that regard. If a captain, not even a captain, if a leader has taken this decision ahead of his team, then I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. So, a lot of things have been said, and a lot of things have been said," said Gautam Gambhir during the presser.
