Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are clashing against each other in the 31st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. PBKS decided to bat first after winning the toss, but the decision didn’t work for them as they were bundled out for just 111 runs in the first innings.

Meanwhile, during the second innings of the match, PBKS star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal produced a brilliant delivery to get rid of KKR’s Rinku Singh. It was a slower and tossed up delivery outside off which drew Rinku forward on the drive. However, the ball dipped and turned in to beat Rinku. Wicketkeeper, Josh Inglis, made no mistake, collecting the ball and stumping him.

It was a match-turning spell from Chahal, as he dismissed four batters in his four-over quota while conceding only 28 runs. The dismissals include Ajinkya Rahane, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rinku and Ramandeep Singh. Chahal tried to bowl slower than usual, which helped to get extra turn and get wickets.

PBKS defend lowest ever total in IPL history

After deciding to bat first, PBKS were only able to put 111 runs on the scoreboard. KKR pacer Harshit Rana dismantled PBKS top-order and rest of the job was done by their spinners Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine.

It looked like KKR would chase the target easily, but they lost their openers quite cheaply in the beginning. However, Rahane and Raghuvanshi steadied the ship before Chahal sent them both back to the pavilion. It was the start of KKR's horrible collapse as they were restricted to just 95 runs. PBKS bowlers made a terrific comeback to defend the lowest total ever in the IPL history.
