India face a massive blow as Josh Hazelwood sends Virat Kohli back into the pavilion on just five runs in the first Test match against Australia. A lot of expectations were on Kohli in the BGT series as he enjoys playing against Australia. He was surprised by the extra bounce as the ball came onto his bat quite quickly. He had less time to react and ended up edging the ball, giving a catch to Usman Khawaja who was standing at the first slip. The extra bounce did a great job for Australia.
Hazelwood was elated on dismissing Kohli as it was an important wicket for Australia. Now, India are 36-3 in 19 overs, as we write. They have a long way to go with just seven wickets in hand. The situation seems out of control for the visitors now with KL Rahul batting on 26 runs and Pant on three.

The pitch has a lot of bounce due to the extra grass. The batters are yet to figure out a way to tackle these conditions since this series is extremely crucial for them. The home team seems to be happy with their performance in the first session so far.
Devdutt Padikkal fails to impress, dismissed on a duck in 23 balls
India went with Devdutt Padikkal ahead of Abhimanyu Easwaran in the first Test match but he failed to impress on the field. He was dismissed on a duck while he played 23 balls. Padikkal couldn't get off the mark with the kind of bowling attack he was facing.
He had a good outing against Australia A in the warm-up games which led to his selection in the main squad. India are in deep trouble as they have scored just 67 runs at the loss of five wickets in 30 overs. Pant is trying hard to get India to a good total as he is batting on 16 runs in 37 balls.
