Paralympic champion Navdeep Singh was a guest on the Shubhankar Mishra podcast. The two chatted freely and Singh was asked to name his favourite cricketer. Shubhankar Mishra said, “Kiske wale ho cricket main? Dhoni wale ya Virat Kohli wale fan?”

Navdeep Singh, with a smile on his face, replied, “Rohit Sharma”. The host had a huge smile on his face as soon as he heard the answer. Shubhankar Mishra said, “Yeh seeti maar moment tha guru!”

24-yerar-old Navdeep Singh won the gold medal for India during the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. The youngster made his himself more famous for his enthusiastic celebrations after making the country proud.

When asked by the host why he said Rohit Sharma, the young champion athlete replied, “He plays well and when he scored the double century, what a knock he had played. Since then I have been his fan.”

When questioned about Rohit being compared to Virat Kohli, the young Indian sensation had a smile on his face. Navdeep Singh said, “Virat Kohli is a good player too but liking doesn’t change.”

Indian cricket is mere five days away from starting their long international season. The first assignment will be at home against Bangladesh. Chennai will host the opening game of the two-match series on Thursday.

Shubhankar Mishra had sat down with Piyush Chawla during one of the shows. The former Indian star made a huge statement on the cricketing futures of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The Mumbai Indians spinner said "Virat I feel will retire last for sure. In T20Is, he might have felt it was the right time, so he left. Rohit I think will play for another 2-3 years. If he plays ODIs, that'll be great. But as a player, only he knows best. If he is aiming for 2027, which I feel he is, it's because he has that desire to win the 50-overs World Cup."

The veteran star also said, “Their current form, and the way they are batting, [seems like it]. And it's not that far either. Even I want to see them play and win together. If you see carefully, when they bat in their respective ways, the bowling team is always on the backfoot. In the Australia game at the T20 World Cup, Rohit smacked Starc runs despite India losing two early wickets. And Virat knows how to set up the game; he has done it for years - bat for a big total, chase down any target. If both play, nothing like it.”
