Virat Kohli faced constant criticism from the Australian crowd on day two of the fourth Test match. The crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium has been riled up after the Kohli-Konstas fight on day one and kept on booing against the Indian batter throughout his batting. After scoring 36 runs in 86 balls, Kohli was dismissed by Scott Boland.

While the player was peacefully returning to the pavilion, some fans consistently attacked him from the stands. Kohli then stopped and gave a threatening look at the people who were shouting. However, the support staff interrupted and advised him to enter the pavilion. This is unacceptable behaviour by the fans, especially because the Australians are famous for their sledding attitude.

Kohli was fined 20% of his match fee for his fight with Sam Konstas, who scored 60 runs in 65 balls in the first innings. The newcomer was just brilliant with the bat and made sure to target Jasprit Bumrah, as he had said before the game. Many critics and experts have bashed Kohli for instigating the fight but have condemned the Australian attack and their behaviour against the Indian player.

Virat made a mistake and was then trying to justify himself: Sanjay Manjrekar

Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar bashed Virat Kohli for running out Yashasvi Jaiswal while the batter was playing on 82 runs. It was a clear case of miscommunication, but as usual, the former players have slammed Kohli for taking Jaiswal's wicket. Soon after his dismissal, Kohli got out as well on 36 runs.

Speaking on Star Sports, Manjrekar said, “Virat made a mistake and was then trying to justify himself by saying that he was looking back. Yashasvi is livid. It was his call, and Kohli should have responded. The moment Yashasvi called for a run. Virat didn’t show interest and started looking away. This is not the right way, as Jaiswal would have been in danger as it was his call. I don’t know why Virat, despite hearing Jaiswal, turned his back. It seems he was not interested in a single and wanted to take strike in the next over. Both the batters were keen on facing the first ball of the next over."
