There are very rare occasions when Virat Kohli reads the ball wrong, leading to his wicket. However, things were different in the second Test match between India and New Zealand which is being played in Pune. Kohli failed to understand a lower full toss ball and threw away his wicket after playing just nine balls in the first innings. It was an unusual dismissal by the player, and he was shocked when the ball hit the stumps.

Kohli looked disappointed with himself, and so was the crowd present in Pune. They couldn't believe what had happened and were silent until Rishabh Pant walked in. Kohli played a terrific knock in the previous match, and fans assumed the same would happen in the ongoing Test match as well. However, Kohli's lack of focus during the game cost India an unnecessary wicket.

India are in deep trouble as they have lost four wickets at just 70 runs. They still have a long way to go, as New Zealand scored 259 runs in the 1st innings. After the dismissal of top-order batters, the responsibility fell on Pant and Jaiswal to elevate the game so that India could score a decent score.

Mitchell Santner's terrific show with the ball continues in 2nd Test match

Mitchell Santner has been the standout bowler for New Zealand so far, as he has dismissed two of the best batters in the Indian team, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli. The Kiwis are currently leading the game as they have dismissed four batters. After Santner, Glenn Phillips dismissed Jaiswal, who was in a terrific position as he was batting on 30 runs.

However, Tim Southee drew the first blood for New Zealand as he dismissed Rohit Sharma in the 2nd over of the game on day one. Now, Pant and Sarfaraz Khan will have to handle the innings as they are the last batters of the team.
