Village cricket can often come up with hilarious gems that make their way through to social media. One such clip has gone viral, which has left the fans in splits and become a viral hit on several platforms. One village cricketer was seen bowling with a very hilarious action which mimics former Indian great Harbhajan Singh and current Afghanistan star Rashid Khan.
The short video that is now doing the rounds on social media shows the bowler start his run-up and initial approach like former India legend, Harbhajan Singh. This is followed by an unexplainable run-up to the bowling crease. The final piece of the action resembles Rashid Khan with the same whippy action.
Once the video went viral, the bowler in question got a variety of comments. While a few trolled him for his peculiar bowling action, there were others who loved it. The video, which has gone viral on Twitter, has garnered over 24,000 views with 700-plus likes so far.
Other peculiar cricket bowling action
Former South African spinner Paul Adams had a different way of delivering the ball during his heyday. The left-arm wrist spinner would look down at the pitch while releasing the ball, and was called the ‘frog in a blender’. Adams had left many batters clueless early in his career on his Test debut at the age of 18.
Adams went on to play 45 Tests, taking 134 wickets with a best of 7/128, which was one of the four occasions he had taken a fifer. The left-arm spinner also played 24 ODI games and took 29 wickets before calling time on his career in 2006. Apart from Paul Adams, IPL has seen Shivil Kaushil come up with a similar action to the former South African star.
Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action is different, and since his debut in 2016, the right-arm pacer has become a huge part of the Indian side. Bumrah is a key member not only for India but also in the IPL for Mumbai Indians, where his death bowling in particular is known to win many games.
