Rajasthan Royal’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, who is still recovering from an injury which he sustained during a local cricket match, stood up from his wheelchair to applaud the young 14-year-old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, after his blistering 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the the 48th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The moment came during the 11th over of the second innings when Suryavanshi achieved the feat with a six. The whole dugout of RR was on their feet, including Dravid, as they celebrated the young prodigy’s memorable feat. The left-handed batter departed after scoring 101 runs, which included seven fours and 11 sixes.

Suryavanshi shattered multiple records with this magnificent century as he became the second fastest player in IPL history to smash a century after Chris Gayle, who achieved the feat in just 30 balls. However, he became the youngest player to smash a century in the history of T20 cricket.

Brilliant batting performance by RR
Talking about the match, RR won the toss and elected to bowl first, but the decision didn’t really pay off as GT openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan stitched a 93-run stand for the first wicket. GT skipper Gill continued his red-hot form and played a magnificent 80-run knock, featuring five fours and four sixes. Later, Jos Buttler showcased some fireworks with his bat and helped the team to achieve a total of 209 runs.
Chasing the target, RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryavanshi started aggressively and attacked every bowler in the powerplay. They achieved half of the target in just seven overs, which helped the team chase the target easily. Suryavanshi ended up scoring a century while Jaiswal remained not out on 70 runs, which included nine fours and two sixes.
