Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2025 eliminator game on Friday night. It is a do-or-die game for both sides, with the loser of the game packing the bags and going home. The winner, on the other hand, will take on the loser of the game between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the second playoffs.
Ahead of the game, MI players were seen sweating it out in the nets for the huge challenge ahead. Veteran seamer Trent Boult was in his element as he was seen having some fun at the expense of his teammate. Boult was seen hilariously mimicking Mitchell Santner’s bowling action.
The social media handle of the five-time champions posted a short video where Boult could be seen bowling left-arm spin. Boult couldn’t hit the stumps and after delivering the ball, said, “That’s why we should stick to fast bowling.” Santner has been one of the key players for MI this season and picked two wickets in the last game vs Punjab Kings.
Former India pacer worried about Rohit Sharma’s body language ahead of playoffs
Rohit Sharma has twice failed to get going in the last two games of the IPL after the restart. The 38-year-old’s former has become a huge cause of concern for MI, according to former India player Atul Wassan, who was a guest on a show called Bails and Banter.
Atul Wassan said, “He seems to be a bit disinterested; the motivation, the fire in the belly, has satiated. He has won almost everything, from winning the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy to retiring from Test cricket. Hence, to motivate yourself to play at this level of cricket every day is a very tough task.”
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya’s captaincy was blasted by Virender Sehwag after the loss to PBKS. In his chat on Star Sports, Sehwag said, “I said it during commentary. Even after Deepak Chahar's hamstring was strapped during the match, Hardik made him bowl two overs. Chahar's first over was a maiden but he conceded 28 runs in the next two overs. That shifted the match in Punjab Kings' favour.”
