The ILT20 2025 saw a classic moment in the 19th game between MI Emirates and Gulf Giants where Tom Curran was first given out by the third umpire but then was called back by the MIE team. In the last ball of the 18th over, when Gulf Giants' Mark Adair was batting with Curran at the non-striker's end, an appeal was made by the MIE first Yui. This happened because Curran thought that the over was called and so he got out of the crease.
Much to his surprise, Nicholas Pooran collected the ball and hit the stumps. Curran didn't try to take a run but MIE still appealed and the third umpire declared it out. Curran returned back to the pavilion but after some discussion, MIE called him back. They withdrew the appeal and the game continued.
Emirates scored 151 runs in the first innings while the Giants chased the score in the last ball of the game. It was a thriller, enjoyed by the audience. Mark Adair was given the Player of the match award for his 15 runs and one wicket. It was an all-round performance by the ayer, helping his team get victory.
It was just basics: Mark Adair
Mark Adair's all-round performance in the game against MI Emirates was a thrilling experience for all the cricket fans. The player made sure to take his team past the victory line which is a great enthusiasm. He scored 15 runs in eight balls, including two boundaries and took one wicket as well. He dismissed the captain of Emirates, Nicholas Pooran in the first innings. Giants won the game by two wickets.
"It was just basics again (about his plans). Tom Curran came in and shared his experience. The ball swirls, there is always wind here, thankfully caught that," said Mark Adair.
