After Day 1 got washed out due to rain, the 1st Test match between India and New Zealand finally started at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. However, the day two isn't going well for the Indian team. Skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first but the decision has backfired the team as India are 10-3 in nine overs at the time of writing. Tim Southee drew the first blood by dismissing Rohit and the rest of the players followed him back to the pavilion within no time.

Southee's delivery was quite smart, as he bowled full-on off-stump, and Rohit stepped out, looking to understand the swing and play accordingly. However, the ball went in, deceiving the batter and going straight to the stumps. Rohit seemed clueless about the delivery as he looked back at the stumps to confirm his dismissal.

After Rohit, Virat Kohli faced eight deliveries and was dismissed by William ORourke without scoring a single run. Mat Henry jumped into the occasion and dismissed Sarfaraz Khan on a duck. The batters' flop show continued as New Zealand's bowlers enjoyed the Bengaluru weather. They are swinging the ball both ways, which is troubling the batters.

Fresh series for us and we want to start well: Rohit Sharma

India are playing against New Zealand right after the Bangladesh series which means that they have been in practice and have a good chance of doing well in the 3-match Test series. Moreover, during the toss time, Rohit talked about the weather and how things will turn out as the game proceeds. Shubman Gill missed out due to injury and Sarfaraz Khan has got the opportunity to come in. This is a golden opportunity for the player and he'll have to make use of it.

"You want to get the result as much as we want. We assess where we are decide what needs to be done as a team. We have played well in the last few Test matches. Fresh series for us and we want to start well," said Rohit Sharma.
