Tim David was in a fun mood before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 resumes. At M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, David was spotted swimming on the pitch covers and gliding playfully around the sopping wet surface as the rain continued to pour down before Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday, May 17.

His teammates cheered, clapped, and laughed as he returned to the changing room, completely soaked. Despite the weather, David's good humour and teamwork were evident in the moment that went viral.

Tim David's journey in IPL

In the ongoing season, Tim David has been in great form with the bat after joining RCB for Rs 3 crore in the mega auction held in Jeddah last year. He has amassed 186 runs at a scorching strike rate of 193.75 and an excellent average of 93 in 11 IPL 2025 matches. He produced his best performance against Punjab Kings (PBKS), scoring an undefeated fifty in Bengaluru, even though it was a losing effort. The right-hander scored 241 runs with a strike rate of just 130.12 for MI last season, but the five-time winners let him go.

David has amassed 845 runs at an average of 33.80 and a strike rate of 174.94 since making his IPL debut in 2021 with the Mumbai Indians (MI). Since they have won eight of their last eleven games, RCB is in second position in the standings with 16 points and a net run rate of +0.482. In Bengaluru, RCB will become the first team to earn a postseason berth if they defeat KKR.
