The 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar announced his arrival in style by hitting his maiden Test century against England in 1990. At the age of 17 years, he faced the fierce bowling attack of England and showcased his stroke play in front of the entire world. That day, the world believed that a small boy from Mumbai would be ruling international cricket.

Cut to 2013, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar played 200 Test matches, the most by any player. Who would have thought that the 5' 5'' boy would go on to hit 100 centuries in cricket, a record that will remain unbroken for a long time?

Sachin had impressed the cricket world with his amazing cover drives and straight drives against some of the most dangerous bowlers in the world, like Brett Lee, Dale Steyn, Wasim Akram, and many more. These are a few reasons why he's considered the 'God of Cricket.' While the title remains debatable, the people who have watched him play give him the due credit.

It was the summer in England when the young Sachin Tendulkar irritated the English bowlers with his calm and cool nature while batting. Playing in England isn't easy for any player, but how Tendulkar handled the pressure in the 2nd innings and helped India draw the match on English soil was commendable.

The first innings saw England scoring 519 runs with three English batters scoring centuries, which was more than enough to bring down the morale of the Indian team. However, Indian batters did fight back well and scored 432 runs, including skipper Mohammad Azharuddin's awesome century. India needed 407 runs in the second innings to win the match but had to survive an entire day to draw the game.

That was when the amazing and talented young Sachin Tendulkar came into play. Batting at No.6, the 17-year-old boy showed great skills and talent to survive the entire day, which eventually helped India to draw the match. He scored 119 runs off 189 balls. He hit 17 beautiful boundaries in the process, including some mesmerizing straight drives and cover drives. With him, Sanjay Manjrekar and Manoj Prabhakar scored half-centuries, and in the end, India scored 343 runs.

While winning the match was a long shot, drawing the game was the next big task that India successfully managed. Even though the English batters scored centuries, the cricket world could only remember the young boy, who just entered the international set-up, who stood up against the lethal bowlers to help his team end the match beautifully.
