Rohit Sharma 264 (Source: X)
Ten years ago, Rohit Sharma, the Indian opener, played an unforgettable innings against Sri Lanka, written in the game's history. In 173 balls, Rohit went on to score 264 runs, hitting 33 boundaries and nine huge sixes, scoring the highest total by an individual in ODI cricket. He wreaked havoc on Sri Lanka's bowling attack and made a record that is still unbreakable even after ten years.
No modern-day batter has been able to reach the score, and it seems like it will take time before someone breaks the record. The opener was in a different mood altogether as he redefined batting in that match with his unstoppable approach.
Thanks to his marvellous innings, India's total went up to 404 runs, and they won the game by 153 runs. The Eden Gardens, Kolkata, has been Rohit's favourite ground forever, but scoring 264 on that same ground is a fond memory that he will always remember.

The match started with Virat Kohli winning the toss and choosing to bat first. This gave Rohit the full confidence to go out and express himself on the field. He was let free by the captain, and the results were in front of us. Rohit isn't an orthodox batter but is a sweet-timer of the ball, which has given him success as an opener.
Sri Lanka's disappointing show helped India clinch victory by a huge margin
After a below-average bowling performance by Sri Lanka's bowlers, the batters' performance was even more disappointing. While Rohit scored 264 runs all alone, the visitors scored 251 runs, losing the game by 153 runs. Umesh Yadav and Stuart Binny gave a solid start to the match by taking quick wickets. Once the top order shattered, the middle order collapsed like a pack of cards.
Dhawal Kulkarni was the hero of the bowling attack as he claimed four wickets. At the end of the game, Rohit Sharma received the well-deserved Player of the Match award for his staggering innings that is still carved in the memories of every Indian fan.
