When India play against Pakistan, the game turns out to be enjoyable and thrilling each time. During the ICC events, the charm of the game increases due to the electrifying atmosphere of the fans, who loudly cheer for their respective teams. Every time we speak about rivalry, one incident always comes to mind, and that is the fight between Ishant Sharma and Kamran Akmal in 2012.
It was an unexpected incident where both players engaged in an argument in the 18th over of the game. After the game, both players were reported to the match referee, Roshan Mahanama, by the umpires - S Ravi, C Shamsuddin, TV umpire VA Kulkarni, and fourth umpire K Srinath - and charged with 'conduct contrary to the spirit to the game.' Akmal also opened up on the incident in 2023, stating, 'Ishant was abusive to me. He said one harsh word and received 20 in return. I’m being completely honest here.'

Talking about the match, Indian openers Ajinkya Rahane and Gautam Gambhir gave a good start to the game, but the middle order collapsed, scoring just 133 runs in the first innings. Umar Gul was Pakistan's star bowler as he broke the backbone of the batting lineup by taking three wickets.
Mohammed Hafeez led Pakistan to crucial victory
Captain Mohammed Hafeez turned out to be Pakistan's knight in shining armour and scored a blistering half-century to help the team claim victory against their arch-rivals. He was accompanied by Shoaib Malik, who scored 57 runs off 50 balls. It will be a forgettable match for all Indian fans as the bowling and batting failed at the same time.
Captain Dhoni handed over the ball to Virat Kohli, expecting some miracle. However, he turned out to be expensive, getting hit for 21 runs in two overs. Despite Bhuvneshwar Kumar's stunning bowling efforts, India lost the game by five wickets. Bhuvneshwar claimed three wickets in the game.
India are set to clash against Pakistan on February 23 in a Champions Trophy 2025 clash in Dubai. The last they played against each other was in the 2024 T20 World Cup where the Men in Blue defeated Pakistan in a thrilling match by six runs.
