In the ongoing 2nd Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed made a brilliant comeback in the game with his terrific delivery to dismiss Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique on a duck.

On the last ball of the first over, Ahmed bowled a good length ball which shaped back into the right-hander, surprising him. The batter was deceived by the ball's swing and couldn’t understand the delivery leading to his dismissal. Moreover, there was a huge gap in between the bat and the pad which turned out to be helpful for the bowler and the ball went right onto the top of the stumps, dismantling the bails.

Undoubtedly, this is one of the best starts for the Bangladesh team. After the game was washed out on the first day, the 2nd day was bright for the visitors. Moreover, Saim Ayub and skipper Shan Masood have set their foot and are looking quite comfortable on the pitch. While Ayub has scored 39 runs off 74 balls, skipper Masood has scored 46 runs off 49 balls. It seems like the captain is playing with a different mindset in the 2nd Test. Now, the rest of the team will have to bat well to put up a brilliant score on the board.

After a disappointing outing in the 1st Test, the hosts would like to turn the tables and win the game as this series comes under the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 cycle and Pakistan is already in the eighth position. However, after winning the first Test, Bangladesh have moved to the sixth position in the points table. They have a lot of games left in the cycle including the upcoming Test series in India, so they have a pretty good chance of being in the qualification race if they continue with their marvellous performance.

Shaheen Afridi dropped from 2nd Test against Bangladesh

If we look at the entire bowling performance of the Pakistan team in the 1st Test match, none of the bowlers did well and hence, the team suffered. It was a brilliant batting display by the Bangladesh batters including Mushfiqur Rahim who rose to the occasion and scored 191 runs off 341 balls which was the actual reason behind the host's failure. Also, the bowling attack did pretty well in the first game where Shakib Al Hasan claimed three wickets in the 2nd innings, stopping the Pakistan batters from scoring more runs.

Despite all these, skipper Shan Masood and the management decided to drop Shaheen Afridi from the 2nd Test match and took four prime pacers. While the captain didn’t give any solid reason behind Afridi's exclusion from the team as per reports it might be because of his behaviour towards the team. A video went viral where Afridi misbehaved with the skipper during the team huddle in the 1st Test match. This might be the reason why Shaheen Afridi was dropped from the team and might struggle to find his place in the upcoming series if the other players perform better than him in the ongoing match.
