Match number two in the Major League Cricket (MLC) season saw Mumbai Indians New York (MINY) take on Texas Super King (TSK). Nicholas Pooran won the toss and chose to bowl first as TSK ended their innings on a healthy 185 runs on the board from their 20 overs. TSK skipper Faf du Plessis scored 18 runs from 15 balls with the help of two boundaries and a six.

The opening pair of du Plessis and Devon Conway had added 39 runs when TSK’s skipper was dismissed. Eshan Adil bowled a length ball that du Plessis tried to heave across the line and Tajinder Dhillon came running into complete an amazing take. Each and every MINY players was elated as the TSK skipper had gotten off to a great start.
Post the fall of du Plessis, TSK lost wickets at regular intervals to be reduced to 96 for five at one stage. M Saiteja was out for five caught by Quinton de Kock off Naveen ul Haq while Michael Bracewell got the wicket of his international teammate Daryl Mitchell for eight runs. Bracewell also dismissed Milind Kumar for 18 as Sunny Patel got the scalp of Donovan Ferreira for a golden duck.
Devon Conway and Calvin Savage propel TSK to 185
Veteran batter Devon Conway stood steadfast as he battled on despite the fall of wickets at the other end. The pair-added 79 runs for the sixth wicket in 47 balls to help TSK go past the 170 run mark. Conway hit five huge sixes and two boundaries in his knock of 65 which came off 44 balls.
Calvin Savage used the long handle well as the South Africa born all-rounder provided the much-needed impetus with the bat. Savage was not out on 53 off just 34 balls with the help of two boundaries and four huge sixes. This knock helped TSK put up a decent score on the board and give MINY a target of 186 runs to win. The best bowlers for MINY was Michael Bracewell with 2/34 while Ehsan Adil, Naveen, and Sunny Patel picked a wicket each.
