The dramatic intervention in the Sri Lanka vs India match was the on-field umpire's decision on wide delivery in Shivam Dube's over. The ball touched his body when it went past Pathum Nissanka, but the umpire couldn't hear it. Before Dube could appeal for a wicket, the umpire signalled it wide. Following that, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul had a conversation, and Rahul convinced the skipper that it wasn't out since it touched his thigh pad.

However, an interesting thing happened when Dube wanted to take a review for the decision reversal of the wide given by the umpire. At this moment, KL Rahul was heard saying to Rohit in the stump mic, "IPL mai wide bach jaata hai na, issi liye bol raha hai wo."

Commentator Sanjay Manjrekar revealed that the players' conversation went on air during the game. Moreover, the skipper didn't go for a review, and later on, in the Snickometer, it was clearly evident that it wasn't a wicket, and Rahul saved one DRS for India.

Pathum Nissanka is on a roll; smashing Indian bowling attack

Sri Lanka's opener, Pathum Nissanka, is on a roll as he scored a half-century in the first ODI game against India. In just 67 deliveries, the opener has scored an unbeaten 50 runs while the players are throwing their wickets on the other end. Until now, Nissanka has scored eight boundaries, and a few of them have come against India's best bowler, Mohammed Siraj.

Nissanka was Sri Lanka's best batter in the T20I series and the highest run-scorer as well. He's the only player who has played sensibly throughout the series and continues to do so. If Sri Lanka wants to win a game against India, everything depends upon him now.
