Steven Smith looked dangerous on the crease in the first innings of the fifth Test match against India before Prasidh Krishna dismissed him on 33 runs. The batter fell short of five runs to complete his 10k runs in Test cricket. From the way Smith started his innings, it looked like he would have crossed the astounding feat but he couldn't. Interestingly, Krishna was the bowler who was smashed by Smith from the start of the innings.

The bowler turned the tables in his favour by delivering a fuller-length ball. The ball edged the bat and went straight to the third slip, where KL Rahul was waiting to grab his third catch of the match. A brilliant display of energy was done on the field by the Indian bowlers as they sent almost half of the team back to the pavilion.

This was Krishna's first wicket of the game while Siraj and Bumrah have already claimed two wickets each. By lunch, Australia scored 101-5. They still trail by 84 runs and the Indian bowlers will definitely make sure to make it difficult for them to achieve.

India's fighting comeback on day two against Australia

The pitch at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney looked more promising for the bowlers in the first innings. But nobody had an idea that the Indian bowlers would take much advantage of it when the Australian batters came into attack. Jasprit Bumrah as usual started coming off strongly from one end, while Mohammed Siraj was no less from the other.

Both the bowlers dismissed the top-order batters, taking two wickets each. However, Steven Smith wasn't letting his guard down and playing any rash shots to throw away his wicket. He was closing to his 10k runs when Krishna came in and dismissed the batter. It was a magnificent attack from the bowlers and with 84 runs and five wickets in hand, the Australian batting wouldn't panic much. They have a good depth in their batting. Hence, the Indian bowlers will look for a way to get at least 40-50 runs lead for the team.
