The Hundred Mens Competition 2024 has reached its final stage as the Southern Braves qualify for the finals after beating Birmingham Phoenix in the Super 5. Jofra Archer's lethal bowling prevented the Phoenix from scoring more than seven runs in five balls. Braves batter Chris Jordan hit a brilliant boundary in the second last ball to take his team to the competition's finals.

The Phoenix had won the toss and elected to field first. It was pretty evident that they wanted to restrict the Braves under a low score and had to chase it down. Their plan did succeed in the first half, as the Braves scored 126 runs at the loss of six wickets. Adam Milne was the performer for the Phoenix as he claimed three wickets and conceded just 18 runs.

When Birmingham Phoenix came in to bat, it looked like they would chase down the score. Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, and Jacob Bethell tried their best to get the team past the victory line, but the tailenders struggled, so the game ended in a tie. Post that, a Super 5 was held, and the batters could score only seven runs. Chris Jordan and Kieron Pollard made no mistake and won the game for the Braves. For his magnificent bowling in the Super 5, Jofra Archer was given the Player of the Match award.

Just relieved, to be honest: Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan's performance in the Eliminator was quite brilliant, as he just gave away seven runs in the Super 5 against Birmingham Phoenix. For his brilliant performance, he became the Match Hero, which was quite fair. It was an important game, and he stood up for his team, helping them reach the finals.

"Just relieved, to be honest. I thought I gave it away in the second last over against Livi. You just gotta commit to it (plans). Some days it happens for you, some days it doesn't. We got 11 match-winners, and the guys not in the 11 are match-winners themselves. Lots of physio and maybe some meds," said Chris Jordan
