Rajasthan Royals (RR) seamer Jofra Archer took two wickets in the first over in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match versus Punjab Kings (PBKS). The home team were set 206 runs to win their third game of the season. In the very first ball of the chase, Priyansh Arya was beaten for pacer as Archer rattled the top of the off-stump. Archer, was seen sleeping in the dressing when Rajasthan Royals were batting which had the social media going crazy.

PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer began his innings with two powerful boundaries. Archer, then dug the ball in short to unsettle the batter. In the very next ball, Iyer gave himself to room to smash the bowler for yet another boundary. The English seamer though had the last laugh as he beat Iyer for pace and rattled his stumps. 

By the end of the first over, PBKS had been reduced to 11 runs for the loss of two wickets. Sandeep Sharma then got into the act when he got the wicket of Marcus Stoinis for just one as the veteran seamer took a neat return catch. PBKS then lost their fourth wicket with the score reading 43 when Prabhsimran Singh holed out to Hasaranga off Kumar Kartikeya’s bowling. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag’s heroics helps RR reach 205

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and put RR into bat first at the Mullanpur Stadium on Saturday. Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 89 runs for the first wicket in just 10.2 overs before Samson was out for 38 runs. Lockie Ferguson, who got the wicket of Samson got the key wicket of Jaiswal for 67 runs. The left-handed batter lost his off-stump while trying to go for an aggressive shot against the Kiwi pacer. 

Nitish Rana scored 12 runs off just seven balls but holed out to Glenn Maxwell to give Marco Jansen his first wicket. Arshdeep Singh then dismissed Shimron Hetmyer for 20 in the penultimate over of the innings. Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel then gave the finishing touches to the innings to record the first 200 plus score at the Mullanpur Stadium. 

Riyan Parag who had led the side in the first three games of the season batted well to score an unbeaten 43. His knock came off 25 balls with the help of three fours and three huge sixes. Jurel played a short cameo as he was not out on 13 off just five balls with one boundary and the solitary six that took the total past 200.
