Star India batter Shreyas Iyer celebrated India’s historic Champions Trophy 2025 with a special and iconic dance. He danced uniquely, resembling the renowned character ‘Iyer’ from a famous Indian television drama, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Besides his unique dance celebration, Iyer also contributed with a decisive knock with the bat while lifting the trophy.

Iyer has been one of the ‘top performers with the bat’ for India in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The video of Shreyas Iyer’s amazing dance celebration also made rounds on social media as soon it was shared by ICC and Star Sports on their official Instagram handles.

India, led by Rohit Sharma’s captaincy knock, comfortably chased down the 252-run target in 49 overs, scoring 254 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and won the historic final against New Zealand by a 4-wicket margin. Rohit Sharma won the ‘Player of the Match' award for his match-winning knock of 76 runs off 83 balls, with seven fours and three sixes.

Following Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer also played the knocks of 31 ad 48 runs, respectively. Furthermore, the 34 and 29 runs scored by KL Rahul and Axar Patel helped India cross the line with an over to spare. 

Speaking of New Zealand bowlers, skipper Mitchell Santner and all-rounder Michael Bracewell scalped 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket each picked by Kyle Jamieson and Rachin Ravindra.

Earlier in the first innings, the Blackcaps posted 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell contributed with the knocks of 63 and 53 runs, respectively.

Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips also scored 37 and 34 runs. 
Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav bagged 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket each picked by Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja.
