In the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons' bowler Shamar Springer saved five runs for his team by timing his jump on the boundary line. His presence of mind worked for the team in the crunch situation and helped them save five runs. Although Antigua and Barbuda Falcons lost the game by one wicket, their efforts on the field were fabulous.

In the seventh over of the second innings, Springer was standing near the boundary line when the ball rushed toward him thanks to Kofi James' short ball, which Evin Lewis pulled toward deep mid-wicket. Springer was well aware of the ball's position and jumped to take his position and saved the ball from going past the boundary line.

While chasing 164 runs, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lost nine wickets in the process but still managed to win the game. The top order saved their day by making significant contributions to the game, which finally helped them chase down the target. Moreover, it was just the first match, and with the Falcons' batting, bowling, and fielding strength, it looks like all the other teams will have some tough competition.

If I stayed there we would win: Kyle Mayers

In the 1st CPL 2024 game, Kyle Mayers of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the Player of the Match for his brilliant 39 runs off 24 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes. He was absolutely brilliant with the bat and smashed the bowlers whenever he got a loose ball. He was quite happy and mentioned that he knew he had the potential to win the game for the team.

"It was nail-biting, the game was so close, we were really quiet and patient, hoping we get over the line. My mindset was simple, it was a good wicket, stay there as long as possible, if I stayed there we would win. Take advantage of the ends and the breeze but unfortunately I got out, I tried my best to finish it off in that over. I'm enjoying it, I'm good friends with Fletcher and there's a lot of Bajans here," said Kyle Mayers.
