India's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and keeper-batter Sanju Samson were spotted singing together during the team bonding activity session ahead of the upcoming T20I series against England. Despite the Champions Trophy snub, Samson was seen enjoying the environment with the Indian team.

Advertisment

It was good to see the team management trying their best to keep the players motivated after a heartbreaking period recently in Australia. Samson didn't participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, which might be the reason behind his Champions Trophy snub.

However, he has been picked for the T20I series against England, which starts on January 22. Samson was outstanding in South Africa, where he scored two consecutive centuries and played a crucial role in helping India win the series. Despite being a terrific batter, he couldn't secure a spot in the Indian team for the ODI series and the Champions Trophy as well due to the depth of talent in the squad. England are touring India for a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series.

Rift between BCCI and PCB goes viral again

According to reports, BCCI isn't interested in sending Rohit Sharma to Pakistan for the captain's meet-up, which will happen at the opening ceremony. Also, the Board doesn't want to print Pakistan as the host nation on the jerseys. While the news hasn't been confirmed yet, an anonymous source who spoke to ANI said that BCCI is bringing in politics, which isn't fair.

One PCB source, while speaking to IANS, said, "BCCI is bringing politics into cricket, which is not at all good for the game. They refused to travel to Pakistan. They don't want to send their captain to Pakistan for the opening ceremony, now there are reports that they don't want the host nation's Pakistan name printed on their jersey. We believe that the world governing body will not let this happen and support Pakistan."
