India will never forget the ODI World Cup 2023 finals, where Australia defeated the Men in Blue and snatched the trophy from them after having a brilliant tournament. However, in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024, India took their revenge successfully after eliminating Australia from the Super 8 stage. In that particular match, India skipper Rohit Sharma smashed the Australian bowling line-up, including their leading bowler, Mitchell Starc.

Recently, in the US, Rohit Sharma visited a promotional event where the crowd kept on chanting Starc's name since the right-handed batter hit him well during the game. In response to this, Sharma silenced the crowd by saying, 'Calm Down Guys'.

Beating Australia in an ICC event will always be an emotional moment for Indian fans. This time, it felt more like a revenge than a game after Rohit thrashed the bowlers from the very first over. He played like he had nothing to lose, and it was clear in his mind that eliminating Australia was extremely important.

I have played a lot against him: Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc is one of the best bowlers in Australia and a very difficult bowler to play against. He has a lot of pace and variations under his belt which makes it difficult for the batters to play. While recalling the match in the Willow Talk podcast, Starc praised Rohit Sharma for his brilliant batting against him.

"I have played a lot against him. He had a good tournament, especially at the back end. I think he targeted that wind in St Lucia as well. It was the one end that went for a lot more (runs) than the other. I think I had five bad balls and he hit them all for six," said Mitchell Starc.
