WATCH: Rohit Sharma turns mentor and helps Shivam Dube with his bowling skills

Shivam Dube is set to be part of the Indian team that will be playing in the T20 World Cup 2024 campaign starting in a few days. The 30-year-old has made his way back to the men in blue squad after a few strong seasons in the Indian Premier League for Chennai Super Kings. 

While Shivam Dube has been a terrific batter in recent times it is his bowling which has taken a backseat. The right-arm medium pacer has hardly bowled in the last few years and this year Dube picked a solitary wicket for Chennai Super Kings.

Rohit Sharma the Indian skipper could be seen giving Dube some tips when he was bowling in the nets. The 37-year-old could be seen instructing Dube where to bowl and how the batters will anticipate his bowling in a short video by Star Sports India on their Twitter handle. 

Indian team seen in full flow during nets 

Star Sports India captured the entire mood in the Indian camp as the men in blue were seen getting in the groove for their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah were some of the earlier players who came out for practice and spent a few good minutes batting in the nets. 

Vice-Captain Hardik Pandya spent a long time in the nets which began with his batting drills followed by a long time with the ball. As per reports, Hardik Pandya spent nearly 45 minutes bowling in the nets under the close supervision of Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma. 

Former India seamer RP Singh has asked Hardik Pandya to bowl his four overs and play a crucial role with the ball during the T20 World Cup 2024. “Hardik bowled in the IPL and bowled four overs so there's no injury scare. Hardik's bowling will be important and he will have to bowl all his quota of 4-overs”

RP Singh who played a key role in India’s T20 World Cup win in 2007 also said that if Shivam Dube can roll his arm over it will be a huge plus for India. “If Shivam Dube bowls too, then it will be an added advantage for India ahead. Shivam may not play some matches initially but whenever he plays, he will perform well and score runs for India”
