Indian cricket team's captain Rohit Sharma was spotted practicing with Mumbai's Ranji Team ahead of phase two of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. After 15 years, the skipper might make his comeback in the domestic set-up. As per reports, he has made himself available for their sixth-round game against Jammu and Kashmir to get some match practice after his bad form troubled him in the series against New Zealand and Australia.

As the England series is approaching, India will first play a 5-match T20I series, followed by a 3-match ODI series. Before the ODI series, Rohit will get to play just one game in the Ranji Trophy season. His practice with the team shows the level of dedication he has for the game.

In the last few series, Rohit was seen struggling with the bat. He failed to gather runs in India as well as in Australia, falling prey to criticism. Post that, he made a conscious decision to drop himself from the final game of the BGT series. It will be interesting to see whether Rohit will play in the Ranji game or is just practicing with the team.

Virat should take inspiration from the Mumbai cricketers: Ashok Sharma

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) secretary slammed Virat Kohli for missing out on domestic cricket. He quite bluntly said that Kohli should learn from the Mumbai players and play in the upcoming Ranji match for Delhi. The selectors have added Kohli and Rishabh Pant's names to the probable list.

"Both Virat and Rishabh’s names are on the probable list. The Ranji Trophy camp is underway. Virat should take inspiration from the Mumbai cricketers and play for Delhi in domestic cricket whenever he is available. See, in Mumbai, there has always been a culture where their India players turn up for Ranji matches whenever available. It is missing in the North, especially in Delhi," said Ashok Sharma The Indian Express.
