Ahead of the press conference for the squad announcement for the Champions Trophy 2025 and the ODI series against England, Rohit Sharma was seen having a conversation with Ajit Agarkar regarding the BCCI guidelines. The two discussed the new BCCI policy implemented after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) loss. Rohit appeared rather anxious as he spoke with the head selector about the new regulations, seemingly unaware that his microphone was on. Their discussion was interrupted, and the press conference began before the full exchange could be completed.

"I think every team has some rules in place. We have spoken about various things. We have seen in the last few months the need for some changes, more bonding in the team," Ajit Agarkar said, responding to the 10-point BCCI guidelines for national men's team players.

BCCI has introduced new policies

A strict set of 10-point disciplinary procedures has been released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an exclusive policy document that India Today was able to acquire. During tours, the BCCI has decided to forbid players from bringing personal employees such personal security guards, stylists, hairdressers, or cooks.

This action is intended to promote a more cohesive and professional team culture while highlighting the comprehensive growth of cricket at all levels. In order to maintain team cohesiveness and discipline, players will also no longer be permitted to commute for practice or games on their own. There will also be stringent restrictions on family members traveling with players on trips.
