Phil Salt got a low full toss and the batter went for a drive and mistimed the ball. Riyan Parag who was fielding at mid-off region dove in front but saw the ball bounce off his hands. It was a huge moment for RR as Phil Salt has been one of the most dangerous batters in the first six over of the IPL.

RCB came into the game unchanged having beaten Punjab Kings in their previous encounter. This was RCB’s fifth win away from home but their home record has been dismal. Rajat Patidar and his side are yet to win a game at home and this is their fourth game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Jofra Archer who was tasked with bowling the first over of the game conceded 11 runs. The English seamer bowled with great pace and nearly touched the 150 KPH mark. Farooqi saw seven runs being scored off his first over with Salt hitting his first boundary of the game off the left-arm seamer.

Archer’s second over saw 10 runs being scored as Virat Kohli hit two successive fours. The introduction of Tushar Deshpande saw runs begin to flow as the seamer gave away 14 runs which also included three boundaries. By the end of the powerplay overs, RCB had raced to 59 for none with Kohli and Salt batting well.

Just when the pair looked like taking the game away, former RCB player Wanindu Hasaranga got the key wicket of Salt. Salt was out after scoring 26 off 23 balls with four hits to the fence.
