The drama in the Sri Lanka vs India ODI series hasn't stopped yet. In the 3rd ODI, Indian bowlers were clueless at the start, however, they made a brilliant comeback in the middle, but one incident occurred, which stole the limelight of the first innings. During the 49th over, while Kuldeep Yadav was bowling, Maheesh Theekshana was given out by the umpire for stumping. However, in a dramatic turn of events, the third umpire discovered that he wasn't out.
Now, the reason behind this confusion was Rishabh Pant's lazy stumping. When Pant collected the ball, Theekshana was way out of the crease, but by the time the keeper hit the stumps, he managed to get inside the crease and, hence, was declared not out. But the fun didn't stop there.
Rishabh Pant sometimes tries to be oversmart.. There was plenty of time for that stumping, and he had the ball in hand, yet he still couldn’t pull it off..

The third umpire got confused with the information and gave the batter out on the screen while it was supposed to be 'not out'. After a few seconds, the third umpire changed their decision and displayed 'not-out' on the big screen. This funny blunder by the third umpire left Sanath Jayasuriya scratching his head in confusion. Pant's wrong judgment gave one lifeline to Theekshana, which he couldn't use since only one over of the game was left.
Avishka Fernando's destructive batting left bowlers shocked
Sri Lanka's opener Avishka Fernando came into bat with a positive attitude as he thrashed the Indian bowling attack. He scored 96 runs off 102 balls, including nine boundaries and two huge sixes. He was constantly keeping the crowd entertained and kept the scoreboard going. After his dismissal, Kusal Mendis joined the party and scored a magnificent 59 runs off 82 balls, including four boundaries.
Only Riyan Parag managed to take three crucial wickets, including Fernando. It was a forgettable day for Mohammed Siraj, conceding 78 runs by taking just one wicket. It was his worst performance against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka scored 248 runs, the highest score in the series. Now it's up to the Indian batters to play their game and win the match to draw the series, 1-1.
