The defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) are taking on the Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) in the tournament opener of the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025). RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and has asked Gujarat Giants to bat first. Batting first, the Giants are struggling against the bowling attack of the holders.
In the same line of events, RCB Women’s star pacer Renuka Singh produced an unplayable delivery to scalp the first wicket of the WPL 2025. Singh dismissed Giants’ opener Laura Wolvaardt on the third ball of the fifth over in the first innings. Wolvaardt could score only 6 runs off 10 balls, with only one four.

Speaking of the action of the ongoing game between RCB Womenand GG Women, the latter had scored 86 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 11.5 overs. Opener Beth Mooney and middle order batter Diandra Dottin are there in the middle at the individual scores of 56 runs and 1 run, respectively.
Renuka Singh, Kanika Ahuja and Prema Rawat have scalped a wicket each for RCB women at the time of filling this.
Notably, RCB have been in an amazing run of form in their last three WPL matches last year in 2024 edition. They are coming off three successive wins in their last three WPL games, including a glorious win against the Delhi CapitalsWomen in the WPL 2024 Final. They will aim to win this game and continue their winning streak in the WPL.
On the other hand, Gujarat Giants Women didn't have an expected run of form in WPL 2024. They will look ahead to start their campaign in WPL 2025 on a winning note.
