New Zealand have posted a competitive total in the rain-shortened contest against Sri Lanka at Seddon Park, Hamilton. In the 2nd ODI game, the hosts scored 255 runs in the first innings. The game was reduced to 37 overs due to rain, and now the Lankan Lions will have to chase the mammoth total to win the game. New Zealand top-order batters gave a solid start to the innings, and at that moment, it felt like the score would go past 280 runs.

Rachin Ravindra scored 79 runs off 63 balls, hitting nine boundaries and one six, and Mark Chapman scored 62 runs in 52 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes. However, the scores dropped after Ravindra's dismissal. The player failed to score a century because of Charith Asalanka, who took a wonderful catch.

Wanindu Hasaranga bowled a google ball outside off stump, and Ravindra smashed it in the air towards the right of the short extra cover. The skipper made a full-length dive and flew like a bird to catch the ball and send the in-form batter back to the pavilion. Maheesh Theekshana and Wahindu Hasaranga were the star bowlers for Sri Lanka, claiming four and two wickets, respectively. Theekshana claimed a hattrick as well.

I love playing in ODI cricket: Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra had a chat with the commentators after scoring a magnificent 79 runs in 63 balls. He mentioned how much he loves playing ODI cricket and praised his teammates for their contribution to the game. Ravindra was quite impressed with Sri Lanka's comeback in the game.

"I love playing in ODI cricket; you can get into good positions and play good shots. Was great to get in today. Chapman batted really well, the way he rotated strike and took on the bowlers. That partnership was nice. Sri Lanka came back nicely towards the middle and restricted us nicely but we’ll take this total. Need to hold our length for long periods of time, we know our bowlers can do that," said Rachin Ravindra.
