In the eighth match of the ongoing SA20 2025, Durban Super Giants' Quinton de Kock took a stunning one-handed catch, shocking the batter. On the first ball of the 16th over, Joburg Super Kings' batter Jonny Bairstow chased a wide ball and ended up getting dismissed while Chris Woakes was bowling.
The ball edged the bat and flew towards the wicketkeeper, and De Kock didn't make any mistake while grabbing the catch. It was an excellent delivery from Woakes, helping the Super Giants break the moment of the game. Bairstow was batting on 26 runs off 22 balls, hitting one six and one boundary.
The Joburg Super Kings scored 169 runs in the first innings, thanks to a collective batting effort from the entire team. However, the Super Giants couldn't chase the score, losing the match by 28 runs. Quinton de Kock scored 55 runs off 45 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes. For his excellent batting efforts, De Kock was given the Player of the Match award.

Despite losing the game against the Joburg Super Kings, Quinton de Kock was given the POTM award for his wonderful batting and a stunning catch taken by him. He was just brilliant throughout the game, giving in all sorts of advice to the players. He opened up about how difficult it was to bat towards the end of the innings as he couldn't understand the ball.
"As the innings progressed, it got harder. To be honest, I thought I won't be able to do it. I have done it on much flatter wickets. Wasn't able to take on the bowler. It became impossible to hit," said Quinton de Kock during the post-match presentation.
