In The Hundred Mens Competition 2024, Manchester Originals got their first win after playing six matches. Thanks to Phil Salt's 58 runs off 41 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes, Originals got off to a good start and finally won the game by 12 runs against London Spirit. However, scoring isn't the only good thing Salt did in the match. He hit a huge 101 meter six which went out of the ground.

Salt hit the six off Olly Stone to bring up his half-century. That was a brilliant effort to bring up his half-century which took the bowler by surprise. After that, he hit a boundary again before giving away his wicket to Olly Stone. The bowler did really well to dismiss Salt in the 81st ball of the game.

Originals scored 135 runs in the first innings, and it looked like the Spirit would chase it. However, it was Fazalhaq Farooqi who claimed three wickets and helped his team get that one victory after playing six games. Originals are eliminated from the tournament which is not a good thing for the team. However, they'll look to bounce back stronger in the next edition of the tournament.

The results haven't gone our way: Phil Salt

Phil Salt is an amazing batter who helped the Manchester Originals get their first victory of the tournament. He scored 58 runs and gave the much-needed start to the team. For his brilliant performance, he won the Player of the Match award. After collecting the award, he talked about how disappointing the tournament was and would like to make a good comeback next year.

"It's nice to be on the right side of a run-out like that. Pleased to contribute, tough wicket here and we know it's bowler-friendly. The results haven't gone our way. Three games we have lost key moments late on, and pleasing to see the way we turned up today," said Phil Salt at the post-match presentation.
