Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has a huge fan following not only in India but also across the world. The former Indian skipper enjoys a huge fandom across the border in Pakistan. Proof of this was witnessed on Sunday when Babar Azam was batting in Champions One-Day Cup 2024.

On Sunday the cameras panned to the crowd waving Virat Kohli’s Indian jersey in Faisalabad. The fans could be seen going crazy and waving the jersey with full vigor showing love to the Indian star.

Virat Kohli for the record hasn’t played in Pakistan for the senior side. The former Indian skipper had toured the country with the age group cricketers. Stars like Cheteshwar Pujara and Ishant Sharma were part of the team.

Indian Cricket fans are set to see Virat Kohli back in the whites for the first time since January. The 35-year-old was spotted sweating it out in the nets ahead of the first Test in Chennai against Bangladesh that starts on Thursday.

Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan praised Kohli during a chat with JIO Cinema. The youngster said “His passion and spirit are unmatched. Whenever I saw him, even in the pre-match meetings, he’d take charge and tell everyone how many runs he’d score off a particular bowler and break that down for everyone”

Sarfaraz Khan also hailed the infectious attitude the former India and RCB skipper brings to the table. “To be gutsy enough to stand up and talk with such positivity in front of everyone and then deliver the next day is a very unique ability”

Meanwhile, former Pakistan skipper Younus Khan has backed Basit Ali in asking Babar Azam to be stripped of the T20I captaincy. The 29-year-old has been going through a bad patch of form and several questions raised.

Younis Khan during a chat with the media said “If Babar and other top players deliver on the field, then results will be clear to everyone. Humare players khelte kam, bolte jyada hai”

Citing the example of Kohli, the former Pakistani batter said “Look at Virat Kohli. He chose to step down from captaincy on his own terms, and now he's breaking records worldwide. This shows that playing for the country should be the priority. If there's any energy left, then play for yourself."
