The Oval Invincibles had a brilliant start in The Hundred Men's tournament, after winning four out of five matches. Against the Manchester Originals, Sam Curran was outstanding in the death overs as he defended seven runs in the last over. It was a disappointing defeat for the Originals, as they haven't won a single game in the tournament yet.
The first ball went for a wicket as Jamie Overton was looking to hit the ball but couldn't get the connection right with the ball. He was trying to flick the ball, but there was a slight inside edge, and Sam Billings took the catch. That was the turning point of the game.

This was Invincibles' fourth win in the tournament. They are speeding up with pace and will soon be qualified for the next stage. However, the Originals will have to work hard and win all of their remaining matches to qualify. Sam Curran was awarded the Player of the Match award for his brilliant bowling.
Last year we did not win, but now we are: Sam Curran
Sam Curran has been in his prime form after winning another POTM award in The Hundred. He has been consistent with his bowling which has helped his team win most of their matches. In the match against the Originals, he took two wickets and conceded just 16 runs in 15 balls, which was quite impressive.
"That was a really good wicket, great ground to bat, great boundary sizes, Salty and Hursty played really well, with the Hundred, with 10 balls from one end, we felt we could really squeeze when a new batter comes in. It's the self-belief, every day it's someone different, the tournament being small and quick you need to win the small margins, last year we did not win, but now we are," said Sam Curran at the post-match presentation.
