Omair Yousuf's fielding error (Source: X)
In the Champions One-Day Cupcricket, Pakistan's fielding woes continued as Omair Yousuf made a blunder at the boundary line. In the 20th over of the game between the Panthers and the Lions, Mubasir Khan, who was playing on 38 runs off 54 balls, went for a huge hit against Faisal Akram, but the ball didn't quite connect the bat.
Two fielders, Omair Yousuf and Siraj Uddin, came running down towards the boundary line to catch the ball, but Siraj hung back, allowing Omair to take the catch since he was closer to the ball. However, due to Omair's lack of concentration, the ball crossed him and went to the boundary. The bowler was shocked at the fielding efforts shown by both players, as Siraj didn't even try to stop the ball. The disappointment was also seen clearly on the spectators' faces.

After that dropped chance, Panthers' batter Mubasir Khan went on to to score 90 runs off 97 balls including 10 fours and three sixes and was dismissed by Aamer Yamin. He made full use of the lifeline he got after Omair dropped the catch.
Haider Ali's brilliant efforts helped Panthers
Haider Ali, the middle-order batter of the Panthers, helped the team revive their score in the 2nd half of the innings as the top order batters disappointed massively. However, he missed out a well-deserved century as he got out on 84 runs off 99 along. Skipper Shadab Khan went for 37 runs off 29 deliveries. Both players had the ability to produce big hits and help the team to get past the 300-run mark.
But the Lions' bowlers made a brilliant comeback in the end by getting 5 quick wickets which left the Panthers with the total of 283 runs. It won't be wrong to say that the Shadab-led team are 20 or 30 runs short of their desired target, however, the bowlers will definitely try hard to defend the total.
