Under pressure situation, Nitish Kumar Reddy came into bat at the No. 8 position and owned the Australian bowlers like never before. He scored a blistering century in 171 balls in the fourth Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, MSG. Like always, he played some unorthodox controlled shots which speaks volumes about his fearless attitude. However, he also played some classic cricket book shots that will remain in the hearts of the fans forever.

One of the shots he played during the knock, was a magnificent straight drive, just like how legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar used to play in his time. The shot reminded fans of the iconic straight drive of Sachin, and the video went viral on social media. He made an 8th wicket record-breaking partnership of 127 runs off 285 balls with Washington Sundar at MCG. This innings will be etched in the history books for rescuing India from a crucial spot.

When Sundar walked into bat, India were 221-7 and trailing by 253 runs. Thanks to these youngsters, the team avoided the follow-on. Sundar played a staggering knock of 50 runs in 162 balls, giving perfect support to Reddy from the other end.

For our family, it's a special day: Mutyala Reddy, Nitish's father

Nitish Kumar Reddy's father, Mutyala Reddy, was elated after watching his son slam a century at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, in front of almost 78000 people. It was a proud moment for the family as Nitish played a responsible innings, helping India stabilize the innings.

"For our family, it's a special day and we cannot forget this day in our life. He has been performing well since the age group of 14-15 and now in international cricket, it's a very special feeling. (On what were his emotions when Nitish was on 99 with one wicket remaining) I was very tense. Only the last wicket was remaining. Thankfully, Siraj managed to survive," said Mutyala Reddy, Nitish's father, during an interview with Adam Gilchrist.
