All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has finally scored his maiden half-century in Test cricket after failing to get past 40s for six innings against Australia in the ongoing BGT 2024. He has broken the jinx of nervous 40s and slammed the half-century off 81 balls, ending it with the famous 'Pushpa' celebration. Although the 21-year-old made his debut in the first Test match against Australia, he has been consistent with scoring runs.
There were several instances where he was dismissed in his 40s because of his impatient approach. However, he managed to stay calm this time and get to the half-century, announcing his arrival to the world. Being an all-rounder, he has been getting fewer opportunities in batting as well as in bowling. But the player has made the most out of every opportunity.

Indian batting order collapsed once again, making a mockery of themselves in the international set-up. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli formed a 100-run partnership before getting dismissed. From the looks of it, India will avoid the follow-on but won't be able to take the lead because they are trailing by almost 200 runs. Australia have held their command over the Test series and will be looking forward to breaking the years-long wait of getting the trophy home.
That is a stupid shot: Sunil Gavaskar
Former India batter Sunil Gavaskar has criticized Rishabh Pant for his irresponsible shot as he gets out on 28 runs in the 4th Test match against Australia. Pant played his famous unorthodox shot, but this time, he wasn't lucky enough and found the fielder to dismiss him.
Sunil Gavaskar said "You missed the previous shot, and look where you’ve been caught. That is throwing away your wicket. You cannot say that that’s your natural game. I’m sorry. That is not your natural game. That is a stupid shot. That is letting your team down badly. You have to understand the situation as well. He should not be going in that dressing room, he should be going in the other dressing room."
