WATCH: Naveen-ul-Haq's epic reply to former Amit Mishra's remark on rift with Virat Kohli in IPL 2023

Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli's on-field fight is still recalled by many cricket experts whenever any topic involving the Indian Premier League (IPL) comes up. Recently, in an interview, India's former player Amit Mishra talked about the rift and said, 'But do you think Naveen will respect Kohli ever again?' As complicated as this question seems, Afghanistan's star pacer responded to the former Indian spinner in a video shared by the Texas Super Kings (TSK).

"That was just the heat of the moment during the match and nothing personal. And I and Virat Kohli both have forgotten and in the ODI World Cup, we finished, hugged and we moved on from that. But social media nowadays keeps these things going on and on," said Naveen in the video. 

Naveen-ul-Haq is a part of the TSK squad in the USA's Major League Cricket (MLC). In the IPL, he plays for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He's a valuable contributor to the team and has played some really great matches in both leagues. Moreover, he's a brilliant all-rounder of Afghanistan who has the capability to turn the matches in the team's favour.

Virat Kohli set to miss Sri Lanka series

After the T20 World Cup 2024, India played against Zimbabwe and won the series. Now it's time for the Indian team to travel to Sri Lanka to play 3 ODI and T20I matches against the Lankan Lions. While the squad isn't declared yet, the Board plans to announce the squad in the upcoming days. 

According to reports, Rohit Sharma can make himself available for the series, while Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are set to miss the series. For the T20I series, Hardik Pandya will also be available, but Suryakumar Yadav might be given the team's responsibility for the upcoming series.
