The incident took place in the second ball of the second over as Singh gave the bowler the charge. He could only get an inside edge of his bat as the ball went onto hit the leg stump. Choudhary was seen letting out a huge roar as he got his first wicket of the IPL 2025 season.

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first at the Mullanpur Stadium. Punjab, had begun the season with two successive wins over Gujarat and Lucknow. Their run was halted when Rajasthan beat Punjab by 50 runs in the last game. Chennai on the other hand have lost their last three games to slip to the top ninth position in the points table.

CSK bowlers pick three early wickets despite Priyansh Arya’s heroics

The first ball of the game was smashed by Priyansh Arya for a huge six to give PBKS a blazing start to the game. In the very next ball, Khaleel Ahmed dropped a tough return catch to give Arya second lease of life. In the fourth ball of the same over, Arya hit the bowler for the second six in the over as Khaleel gave away 17 runs.

Mukesh Chaudhary conceded seven runs in his opening wicket with Aryam hitting his third six of the innings to spoil the over. Shreyas Iyer then got into the six hitting act as he smashed Khaleel over the long-on region. The bowler got his revenge when he sent Iyer’s off-stump for a walk to dismiss the batter for nine runs.

The third wicket to fall was that of Marcus Stoinis who was out for four runs caught by Conway to give Khaleel his second wicket. At the end of the first powerplay PBKS were placed at 75 runs of the loss of three wickets.
