Legendary wicketkeeper-batter of India, MS Dhoni, often trends on social media for his statements or actions. His fans admire him and have taken out a term known as 'Thala for a reason'. MS wasn't aware of the term, and when asked about it during an event, Dhoni said he got to know about it from social media. He is aware of the dedication of his fans towards him and how they defend him against trollers.

"I myself was not aware of this trend. I got to know about it via Instagram. So, I am grateful to my fans. I don't have to defend myself on social media. I never need to come out and say anything on social media or Instagram. Whenever needed, my fans do it for me. Whenever needed, they praise me," said MS Dhoni at an event.

The phrase's meaning is associated with Dhoni's jersey number, 7. Everything related to the number seven is called 'Thala for a reason.' This is just a way to celebrate the legendary batter more.

MS Dhoni's IPL inclusion in the upcoming seasons hasn't been confirmed yet due to the number of retentions. The Board has to finalize the decision on the mega auction and the number of retentions policy per team. Since a few owners have complained about the mega auction, the BCCI will discuss the matter and announce it later.

Needs to be in the best interest of the team: MS Dhoni

MD Dhoni has finally spoken about his retention for the upcoming IPL seasons. He talked about making a decision that would favour the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team in the future. Now, MSD has handed over the captaincy to Rytyraj Gaikwad who did pretty well in the IPL 2024. Now it's time for the youngsters to take the team forward, and that's what the legendary batter is currently aiming at.

"There is a lot of time for it," Dhoni, who turned 43 in July, said at an event in Hyderabad. "We have to see what decision they take on player retention etc. Right now, the ball is not in our court. So, once the rules and regulations get formalised, I will take a call, but needs to be in the best interest of the team," said MS Dhoni.
