Former India cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni made a short cameo in the new South Indian movie, 'GOAT' starring Thalapathy Vijay. While MSD wasn't acting in the movie, his entry in the Chepauk Stadium, Chennai, during a match was shown in the film where the fans went crazy. A small clip from the movie was leaked, and the audience's reaction was captured.

While Dhoni's entry is captured in the movie, Vijay's scene goes in the background. He was riding a bike on top of the stadium, which was shown in a cinematic manner. Hence, Dhoni's cameo from an old match was included in the movie. This is because Director Venkat Prabhu is a huge fan of MS Dhoni and wanted his inclusion in the movie.

The movie was released on September 5, 2024, and will likely be Vijay's second-to-last project before he transitions to a full-time political career. The movie has a brilliant star cast, including Prashanth, Prabhudheva, and Sneha, and the music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

MSD inclusion in IPL 2025 remains uncertain

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the most prominent names in world cricket, has retired from all formats. Moreover, he continues to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, this year was supposed to be his last year since he was suffering from a knee injury for a long time and went through surgery. He did participate in the IPL 2024, but the mega action for the upcoming season is making it difficult for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise to take a call.

Retaining MS Dhoni might not be a good option because they will have to think about a wicketkeeper batter who can replace him in the future. Keeping a lot of things in mind, MS hasn't even given official confirmation regarding his involvement in the upcoming IPL edition.
