The five-time champions Chennai Super Kings are struggling with a miserable run of form in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). They are currently at the bottom of the tournament’s points table, with only two wins and seven defeats in their 10 games so far.

Meanwhile, what attracted the headlines was the display of amazing hitting skills by CSK skipper MS Dhoni in the nets. He smashed some massive sixes in a six-ball challenge in the CSK nets ahead of the CSK vs PBKS game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The video of MS Dhoni hitting sixes in the CSK nets in the six-ball challenge also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared by CSK on their official X handle (formerly Twitter).

CSK aim for a consolation amidst a dismal run

Speaking of CSK’s recent run of form in the ongoing IPL 2025, they are coming off four defeats and only one win in their last five games in the tournament. They lost to SRH by 5 wickets in the last game following a 9-wicket defeat against the arch-rivals, Mumbai Indians.

CSK will now face the Punjab Kings in their next game in the 49th fixture of the tournament at their home ground. MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. PBKS are currently placed in the fifth spot on the table, with five wins and three defeats, including a ‘no-result’ game in their nine games so far.

Shreyas Iyer’s men are coming off an ‘abandoned’ game against KKR in their previous fixture, sharing a point each with the opponents, following a 7-wicket defeat against RCB. A win in this game against CSK will help them enter the ‘top four’ teams in the tournament to strengthen their chances for the playoffs.
