Indian bowling coach Morne Morkel was seen speaking to BCCI’s official social media handle at the WACA stadium in Perth. During the conversation, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj snuck up behind Morkel with the South Africa deep in conversation.
Siraj could be seen nodding his head hilariously before Morkel set his eyes on the 30-year-old pacer. India’s bowling coach pointing towards Siraj said “This man is a legend. He’s got a big heart, and an aggressive mindset, and is one of the leaders of the attack. I’m very excited to see how he performs on this tour”
Mohammed Siraj had made his debut for India in the Test format during the last tour of Australia. The right-arm pacer from Hyderabad picked a memorable fifer during the Brisbane Test. “Last tour, he was the go-to man in tough situations, and we’re looking forward to seeing him take on a senior role again.” Said Morne Morkel while speaking to BCCI.
Indian bowling coach happy with bowler’s efforts during practice
Speaking to BCCI, the South African-born Indian bowling coach said “Very happy with how the bowlers went. They summed up conditions well, and we’re on track for the 22nd”. Rohit Sharma is set to miss the opening game and the onus of leading the side will fall on the shoulders of Jasprit Bumrah.
Meanwhile, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar during his chat with BCCI said “Just before we came to Australia, Gauti bhai and Rohit, we had a discussion on what we wanted out in these three days. The idea was to try and make sure that one for the younger guys and all for the experienced guys to give them a lot of time in the center to adapt to understand conditions”
Morne Morkel also said “Another three training sessions left. We’ll sit down this afternoon or tomorrow and start planning, looking at game plans and how we’re going to bring out the best in each and everyone for game time on the 22nd."
